    Tasting Notes

Schieferkopf: fine wines from the Rhine basin, in Alsace and in Germany. Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Silvaner… the most authentic
expression of the grape varieties and terroirs. Seven revelations, including three Alsace Riesling AOC single vineyard selections
and wines from the German wine regions of Baden, Franken and Pfalz.

    Grape Variety

    Riesling.

    Soil

Grapes come from blue schist soils from Villé.

    Harvesting

The crop is harvested manually in 20kg boxes.

    Vinification

Grapes are pressed for a long time (around 8 hours). And then the fermentation is initiated by natural yeasts in big casks.

    Maturing

The wine is aged in big casks for 10 months and the malolactic fermentation is achieved.

    Tasting

    Colour: steady gold colour

Nose: varietal aromas, with citrus notes, spices and pineapple.

Palate: the acidity is frank. The finish expresses salty notes and is very aromatic.
